Defending champions Tusker on Saturday stretched their unbeaten run to 10 matches after narrowly edging out Kariobangi Sharks 1-0 in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL) match played at Ruaraka grounds in Nairobi.

Tanzanian import Ibrahim Joshua scored the solitary goal in the first half that saw Tusker narrow the gap between them and league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz to six points.

Tusker are second on 40 points, six points behind leaders Homeboyz who play Bandari on Sunday at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa.

The Brewers scored in the half hour mark when Ibrahim sneaked past Sharks' defenders to head home John Njuguna's cross from the left wing.

The defeat leaves Sharks sixth on the log with 33 points.

Elsewhere, last season’s runners-up KCB ended their five match winless streak with a 2-0 win over Wazito at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani,

Two quick goals scored two minutes apart were enough to break Wazito’s hearts who are now winless in their last three matches.

Derick Otanga netted in the 67th minute to put the bankers ahead before Henry Onyango put the game beyond Wazito’s reach two minutes later.

Victory took KCB momentarily to third on 36 points as Wazito remains 15th on 20 points.
