Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia on Saturday defeated Ulinzi Stars 2-1 in a FKF Premier League match staged at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

Samwel Onyango and George ‘Blackberry’Odhiambo netted for Gor who moved to joint third in the log alongside Tusker on 34 points. K’Ogalo however have a game in hand which if they win will see them move second in he log above second placed Nairobi City Stars.

Gor switched their home ground to Western and nyanza region after recent crowd trouble saw the record Kenyan champions banned from using Kasarani and Nyayo Stadiums.

This was occasioned by chaos that rocked their game against Vihiga Bullets at Kasarani three weeks ago which left three fans badly injured.

At Ruaraka, Kenya Police ended their two-match losing streak after holding defending champions Tusker to a 1-1 draw.

New signing Harun Shakava opened the scores for Police with a superb header in the fourth minute before Shaphan Oyugi drew Tusker level in the 20th minute.

Tusker remain third on 34 points as Police are down at 13th with 23 points.
