When it comes to making certain statements, sports personalities do it with finesse.

It doesn’t matter the discipline, but when it comes to matters fashion, these fellows know how to flaunt.

There has been a craze for long beards across different disciplines. In cricket, just look at New Zealand’s Anton Devcich or South Africa’s Hashim Amla.

For NBA players, tattoos are their style. Look at Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Stephen Curry...the list is endless.

Then there are those, who turn to different crazy hairstyles for recognition. Trust footballers to be way up in this game.

It doesn’t matter where one is playing: professional or amateur, in the English Premier League or Koth Biro, these fellows flaunt their hairstyles with a touch arrogance.

They love it and so do their fans.
This year’s African Cup of Nations is two weeks old and so far, there has been so much to talk about. The players have also made some headlines with their prowess or lack of it. Several of their hairstyles have been the talk of town as well.

Below are some of the hairstyles that have set the tournament on fire.

1. Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang: This is one of the most recognisable faces in Gabon. The fans are equally obsessed with his outrageous Mohawk. Too bad they were not fascinated with his performance on the field of play.

2. Winfried Bony: The Ivory Coast forward was such a big letdown to his team that even his short dreadlocks were stiff due to shock. He got more eyes on his hair, than his show on the field.

3. Dieudonne Mbokani: The Hull City and Congo forward will be glad his flowing locks did not block his view during the group stages. They play Ghana tomorrow in the third quarterfinal.

4. Emmanuel Adebayor: The Togo forward could not guide his country past the group stage, but that did not stop him from trying to look good. The former Arsenal and Tottenham striker was back to the dreadlocks he was known for during his prolific times.

5. Sadio Mane: The Senegal and Liverpool striker has been donning what many would call “the turkey”.

6. Geofrey ‘Baba’ Kizito: The Ugandan defensive midfielder was not impressive, but his dreadlocks were.
