Kenya beat Sierra Leone by four wickets in the ongoing ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Africa Qualifier in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania yesterday.

Sierra Leone won the toss and decided to bat first, carding 139 runs for the loss of ten wickets in 46.5 overs.

In reply, Kenya scored 141 runs, losing six wickets in 40.2 overs.

Sierra Leone captain John Bangura had a half a century score of 51 runs off 107 balls while Brian Likavu was good for Kenya for 40 runs off 62 balls.

This was Kenya’s second game at the ongoing tournament after their opening match against hosts Tanzania on Sunday was rained off, forcing the sides to share spoils.

Kenya will face Namibia in the third match today and will be hoping for another victory.

The tournament winner will join regional qualifiers from Asia (Nepal), East Asia Pacific (New Zealand), Europe and Americas as well as the 11 Full Member cricket nations to the ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka in 2024.
