AFCON 2019: CAF’s Competitions boss Adamu happy with tournament progress

The expansion of participating countries to 24 in this year’s African Cup of Nations has been a success, Caf’s Director of Competitions, Samson Adamu, said yesterday.

Initially, this was a 16-team tournament, but in a conference in Morocco in 2017, the finals were expanded to 24 and Adamu says this has given hitherto tournament minnows the chance to showcase their football.
