David Rudisha promised gold and delivered it in style for millions of his countrymen and women watching live on television and dozens cheering him from the Olympic Stadium.
King David Lekuta Rudisha set a new world record of 1:40:91 in 800metres final at the London 2012 Olympics.
Kenyans across the globe as well as those watching live and fans celebrated wildly as they cheered him on in the homestretch as talentedly broke his own world record.
He definitely etched his name on Hall of fame of the World’s all time best Athletes as Kenyans marveled at her unrivalled star. There is no doubt David Rudisha is in a class of his own.
As expected he delivered the country’s second gold medal after Ezekiel Kemboi’s steeplechase prize.
Equally impressive was 17-year-old Timothy Kitum who put up a spirited finish to bag a bronze medal.
In 2010, Rudisha broke the 13-year-old world 800m record twice in one week. Then, in 2011, he won his first global title at the World Athletics Championships in Daegu.
