Emmanuel Bor and Nancy Jelagat used their expertise to ward off stiff competition before emerging triumphant in this year's Rediscover Nandi 10km road race at the weekend, in Kapsabet.

Bor floored other 402 male athletes before winning in a time of 28:21:19. He bagged Sh80, 000 for the win.

Daniel Kiprotich finished second in 28:30:19, while this year's Eldoret City Marathon champion, Victor Kipchirchir was third after finishing in 28:42:42.

"I knew I was competing against runners who have won local races. We were close to each other for most of the time, but I broke away when I realised we were close to the finish line," said the 23-year-old Bor.

Geoffrey Kimutai, Philip Tarus, Philemond Kiplimo, Josephat Kiprotich, Ronsus Kiplimo, Kibet Kelvin and Amos Kiplagat completed the top ten finish.

Nancy Jelagat recorded her personal best (31:30:42) as she destroyed the field in the women's race.
