The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has reportedly fined the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) sH2.5 million following a series of alarming security lapses during Kenya's opening CHAN 2024 fixture against the Democratic Republic of Congo at Kasarani Stadium on Augyst 3, 2025.

According to an official security report compiled by CAF and first shared by sports journalist Bonface Osano, the high-profile clash on Sunday was marred by multiple incidents, raising serious questions about Kenya's readiness to host continental tournaments.
