Jamhuri Bulls kicked off their new life in Left Foot Sports with a 5-2 victory over Taliban FC during a closely fought Social League fixture at Sikh Union Club Astro Turf on Forest Road over the weekend.

Jamhuri, who featured in the just-concluded RedBull Four to Score Kenya Chapter and reached the quarter-finals, were the better side in the early stages of the game and they deservedly took the lead when Ashraf Thaire powered home from close range in the 12th minute.

Thaire, who was named man of the match, then doubled the scores in the 23rd minute before Julio Odhiambo made it 3-0 at the stroke of the half-time.

On resumption, Taliban reduced the deficit courtesy of Yussuf Mohamed but Odhiambo stretched Jamhuri's lead with a fine finish.

Though AbdiDahir Shaqiri made it 4-2 for Taliban, Thaire ensured they sealed the emphatic victory in their maiden appearance with a fifth goal with a minute left to the final whistle.

Taliban have now lost two matches in a row, having suffered a 2-1 defeat against 2022 champions Salim Omar Advocates in their opener last weekend.

Meanwhile, in another Social action, Salim Omar made it two wins out of two after defeating Saad Advocates 2-0.

Ahmed Shariff, who scored a brace during the victory against Taliban, was the hero for Salim Omar once again as he grabbed another double to seal the vital victory.

Elsewhere, in the Corporate League, Astral Aviation's losing streak continued after they suffered a 3-0 defeat against NFT AutoPort FC.

Aviation are winless in the division having lost their opener 2-0 against Nation Media.
