The total tally of players infected with the coronavirus in Portugal’s Primeira Liga has risen to eight after reigning champions Benfica confirmed midfielder David Tavares tested positive.
According to news from Portuguese news outlets, the club confirmed the 21-year-old tested positive after Covid-19 diagnostic tests were done at Benfica Campus last Friday, May 8. The tests were administered to the entire Squad, the Technical and Professional Staff and the service providers.
