Ashley Young finally set for Inter Milan transfer

Ashley Young appears to be on his way to Inter Milan after Manchester United agreed a deal with the Serie A giants.

Inter boss Antonio Conte was keen on bringing in Young, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

The Manchester United skipper has been free to talk to foreign clubs this month and a pre-contract deal is believed to have been negotiated.

But Inter were hopeful of bringing him in this month and a deal has now been agreed between the two clubs.

It is claimed Inter will pay United an initial £1.3m plus bonuses for the 34-year-old.

Young is expected to travel to Milan on Friday or over the weekend to finalise the deal.

He could be the first of three Premier League signings for Inter this month with Christian Eriksen close to finalising his switch from Tottenham .

Conte is also keen on a reunion with Olivier Giroud, having worked with the Frenchman at Chelsea.

The Serie A club’s sporting director Piero Ausilio has flown to London to negotiate the final details and get the deal done with Tottenham for Eriksen.

Eriksen, 27, had been reluctant to leave in January as he is a free agent in the summer but Inter’s huge £160,000-a-week contract offer plus his fall-out with the Spurs fans has left him ready to go now.

Inter have been trying to get Eriksen on the cheap, have so far offered £12m and talked about a player-plus-cash deal but Spurs want £20m even though his deal expires in six months.

They are still some way apart but Inter are confident as Eriksen is pushing for the move now, as the Spurs fans have begun to turn after his reluctance to sign a new deal.
