Mourinho gives update on Wanyama’s future at Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that Victor Wanyama has not discussed his future with him.

Wanyama, 28, has found his starting opportunities limited since Jose Mourinho arrived in November 2019.

The Harambee Stars skipper had previously been linked with a move to several European clubs, including West Ham, Celtic, Norwich City and Galatasaray but has not yet decided to be transferred.

Quizzed about the Kenyan international, who has only made two substitute appearances this term for Spurs, Mourinho said (via football.london): "He’s our player. If he wants to leave or not, he didn't tell me, we didn't discuss

"We are calm about it. Good professional. That’s it."

According to Gianlucadimarzio.com Spurs are ready to offer AC Milan money plus defender Juan Foyth and Wanyama to sign striker Krzysztof Piatek this January transfer window.

Also according to reports from Foot Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur have included Victor Wanyama in an offer to sign Olympique Lyonnais striker Moussa Dembele this month.

The 28-year-old has fallen well down the pecking order at Spurs, following a series of knee problems last year and he is expected to leave Spurs this January transfer window.

Wanyama started his professional career with Belgian side Germinal Beerschot AC in 2009, staying at the club for two years before moving on to Scotland giants Celtic for another two years.

He then made his move to Southampton on 11 July 2013 for £11.5m.

He joined Spurs from Southampton in the summer of 2016.

His career since he joined Spurs has been marred by bursts of nagging injuries, which have also kept the midfielder out of action in crucial parts of the season.
