Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST RFC) will be seeking to bounce back to winning ways when they meet newbies Northern Suburbs in Karen today.

The Kakamega-based side lost at home to KRU Championship leaders Strathmore Leos and captain Samuel Mbeche said they are keen to return to winning ways and try to catch up with Leos.

“It was disappointing to lose at home after a fine start to the season but we are ready to put the loss behind us. We took it as a lesson and the squad cannot wait to win again,” he said.

Strathmore will be out to extend their lead when they play host to Kisii RFC at Madaraka Grounds.

The Leos, relegated from last season’s Kenya Cup after 11 years, have won all their seven matches and captain Gabriel Adero says they are keen to maintain their good form.

“The win in Kakamega was a real test for us and the boys will be very much aggressive against Kisii for our goal is to finish top of the table,” Adero said.

Leos are currently eight points clear off second-placed MMUST with 33 points and a win over Kisii will see them go for the Christmas break unbeaten.

Third-placed Mean Machine host University of Eldoret Trojans (seventh) at the University of Nairobi with United States International University (sixth) aims to make it two wins in a row for the first time this season when they head to the Coast to face South Coast Pirates in Ukunda.

Mombasa will be at home to Eldoret at the Mombasa Sports Club with Catholic Monks primed to face Egerton Wasps in the early kickoff at the Catholic University.
