Gor Mahia’s first-ever league defeat in 11 months elicits sharp reaction on social media

Perrenial Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia suffered their first-ever league defeat since December 2018, falling 1-0 at the hands of Mathare United’s Slum Boys in a highly contested match played at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos on Wednesday, November 10.

Daniel Otieno came off the bench to grab a last-minute brace for the slum boys, who are now unbeaten in eight consecutive league matches.

The loss leaves Kógalo in second place on the log with 15 points, one behind Tusker FC, but have played two games less.

Obviously, this was not the type of result head coach Steve Polack was expecting – with the Mashemeji Derby around the corner.

Gor’s loss, however, did not go down well with a significant section of the fanbase, with some taking to social media platforms to blast the green army.

Kogalo financial woes have continually affected the team's performance,  with the team having failed to train since Sunday.

Here are some of the reactions captured by GameYetu on social media.
