Joao Cancelo has finally joined Manchester City from Juventus - with Danilo going the other way.

Cancelo becomes City's third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Rodri and Angelino.

City have paid £60million to land the 25-year-old Portugal international.

But more than half of that figure has been offset by the departure to Turin of back-up full-back Danilo, valued at £34million.

Cancelo, who has also played for Valencia and Benfica, has inked a six-year deal at the Etihad.

“City are a fantastic club, with a brilliant manager and I am delighted to be here,” said Cancelo, capable of playing as a full-back on either side, as well as higher up the field.

“Everything about them has impressed me, from the facilities to their style of play.

“I am always looking to develop my game and win trophies and I believe I can do that here, so now I’m really looking forward to the new season and testing myself in the Premier League.”

City chief Txixi Begiristain said: "Joao is a fine player and an excellent attacking full-back who will provide us with a real threat on the right-hand side.

“We have been impressed with his progress and have no doubt he can continue to shine here in Manchester.

“He fits the profile of player we want here at Manchester City. His best years are ahead of him, he’s technically proficient and has the physical attributes we desire.

“I am delighted we have secured his signature.”

Cancelo made 34 appearances in Serie A last term, as Juve won another Scudetto.

City have also confirmed the departure of midfielder Douglas Luiz, who has joined Aston Villa £15million.
