Hockey: Telkom, Parklands win five-a-side tournament

Nairobi’s Parklands hockey team beat Mombasa’s Mvita Marines 4-3 in a thrilling final match of the inaugural national five-a-side tournament at Mombasa Sports Club at the weekend. Steve Nyasani opened the scoring for Mvita in the third minute but Parklands equalised a minute later through Dan Onyango. Erick Kidwaro extended Parkland’s lead in the seventh minute, before Amos Wangwera equalised for Mvita for a 2-2 draw at half time. Parklands scored two goals through Own Oduor and Kidwaro in the 39th and 40th minutes. Mvita pulled one back in the dying minutes through George Omondi.
