Big shots set for Erick Situma Memorial showpiece

Top rugby school teams will battle at the second edition of Erick Situma Memorial Championships at Nakuru Athletic Club today.

The one-day tournament, which features four categories -under 9, Under 11, Under 15 and Under 19 -has attracted two age sets from Nakuru RFC and Impala Saracens.

Eight teams will take part in under 17 and under 13 boys categories while 12 teams are set for under 15 boys categories while four teams each will take part in under 9 and under 11 boys and under 12 and 15 girls categories.

In under 17 category, Pool A has Menengai High and Nakuru Day Secondary Schools, Impala Saracens and Sure 24 while Pool B consists of Kabianga, Nakuru Boys and Jomo Kenyatta High Schools and Spotlight Academy.

Edward Moseti, the event director, said the tournament will be held in honour of former Nakuru RFC and Impala Saracens coach the late Erick Situma.

In under 15 category, Menengai A, Natewa, Oshwal Academy and Kabianga are in Pool A while Pool B has Menengai B, Shamas and Spotlight Academy.

Pool C has Nakuru Boys, Nakuru RFC, Sure24 and New Life School and Pool D Nakuru Day, Jomo Kenyatta, Nakuru West and Molo.
