Manchester United have unveiled their new adidas home kit for the 2019/20 season, opting for an impressive design that celebrates their famous Treble-winning campaign.

History was made in 1998/99 when Sir Alex Ferguson guided his Red Devils to an incredible trio of trophies - the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League.

That European crown was arguably the greatest of the three crowns, with goals from Teddy Sheringham and current Reds manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer securing a stunning 2-1 comeback win over Bayern Munich in Barcelona.

And the incredible performance is the inspiration for this new-look kit, which features an all-new crest design and various other intricate details.

The minutes of when those famous goals were scored – Sheringham’s 91st-minute equaliser and Solskjaer’s 93rd-minute winner – are shown on each sleeve of the new Adidas jersey for the forthcoming season.

In another homage to one of United’s greatest ever nights, the dates of the three title wins are also displayed along the bottom of the shirt.

Adidas have opted to take inspiration from the crest design of that season too, and the new kit features an all-new commemorative crest design of bold black with gold stitching.

Two different versions of the kit are available on the Adidas store website, the first 'authentic' kit for the huge price of £99.95, with a further £10 to be added for any personalisation on the kit.

A cheaper version of the kit is available for £64.95 - again with the added cost if you want a name and number.

The red shirt, which will don sponsor Chevrolet across the front, is accompanied with white shorts and black socks.

For the goalkeeper shirt, a tiger pattern featuring a dark purple two-tone design has been chosen, referencing the top worn by Peter Schmeichel during the 98/99 season.

The United kit will be debuted for the first time in an anniversary game against Bayern Munich at Old Trafford on May 26.

Ferguson will return to the familiar dugout to take charge of a United team against their German opponents, a match that will mark the 20th anniversary of the famous night.

The first-team will then don their new shirt for the first time on July 17, when they face fierce rivals Leeds in a pre-season match in Perth.

It is priced at £64.95 for a men or women's jersey, with a kids shirt £15 cheaper.

Adult shorts are £34.95 (kids £24.95), with socks £16.95.

United, meanwhile, will be hoping to emulate those iconic Treble-winning exploits next season, having endured a miserable campaign.

The Red Devils recovered from a modest start under Jose Mourinho following the introduction into the dugout in December of Solskjaer, who won 14 of his first 17 matches in interim charge.

That gave United renewed hope of a top-four finish but, shortly after Solskjaer's permanent appointment as manager, the club ran out of steam and won just two of their final 12 fixtures - and none of their last six.

Their 18/19 season finished with a humiliating 2-0 defeat by relegated Cardiff, and Solskjaer’s side will be hoping to bounce back next season with a sharp new look.
