Conor McGregor has had his charges dropped relating to the snatching of a fan's mobile phone.

The UFC superstar was accused of smashing and stealing Ahmed Abdirzak's phone outside a Miami Beach hotel.

He was arrested on March 11 with police stating alleged victim Abdirzak was taking a picture of McGregor outside a hotel when he slapped the man's phone out of his hand.

McGregor, who was not required to appear in court, is alleged to have stamped on the phone several times before walking away with it.

Abdirzak dropped the lawsuit and reached an out-of-court settlement with McGregor, and the State Attorney’s Office said he had stopped cooperating with investigators.

Prosecutor Khalil Madani said: "The victim of the crime does not wish to return to the United States and prosecute this case."

McGregor could have been slapped with a maximum penalty of five years in prison for the third-degree felony offense, while the maximum jail time for criminal mischief is one year.

McGregor's defense lawyer Sam Rabin added: "I think this was the appropriate resolution of this case."

He is currently in talks over a return to the UFC after serving his ban for his part in the brawl following UFC 229 in October.

Anderson Silva has called out McGregor and has pleaded with Dan White to give him a crack at the former champion.

Speaking to TMZ, Silva said: “Come on boss. Give the show for the fans, give this show for the big fans of the UFC.

"Two big guys, two big names, you know? It’s good money for you Dana, and a good challenge for me and Conor.”
