Great Rift 10 Aside: Teams to watch in Division Two

Hosts Top Fry Nakuru RFC II, Moi University, Kiambu RFC, Stingers and Technical University of Kenya(TUK) are the teams to watch in the Great Rift 10 Aside Division Two Championships to be played in pitch two at Nakuru Athletic on Saturday, April 20, 2019.

The five teams are the top seeds in their respective pools in the second tier competition of the 29th edition of the tournament that has molded top-ranking stars from the Age Grade Championships since its inception in 1990 when the defunct Barclays Bank were the inaugural winners in one of the most competitive and lucrative rugby competitions in Kenya owing to sponsorships worth millions of shillings that originates from the different corporate companies.

Nakuru RFC II are in Pool A with Meru RFC, KPA Eldoret and Bomet University.

Moi University who is the previous years participated in the senior competition are in Pool B alongside Northern Suburbs, Dagoretti Bull Dogs and Kenya School of Law while Pool C consists of Kiambu RFC, Murang’a RFC, Molo RFC and Vihiga Granites.

Stingers are in Pool D with KCA University, Zetech University and Brumbies RFC while Pool E comprise of Technical University of Kenya(TUK), Administration Police, Nakuru KITI and Citam Kisumu.

The first match that kicks-off the Division Two Championships is between hosts Nakuru RFC II against Bomet University in Pool A to be followed by a tussle pitting Northern Suburbs against Dagoretti Bull Dogs.

To be played on the same day are Great Rift 10 Aside Women and Secondary Schools Championships, which each has attracted participation of eight teams drawn from all over the country.

Age Grade Championships for the Under 12, Under 14 and Under 14 for boys has also been enlisted on the same day of the competition that is a curtain raiser for the main tournament whose defending champion is Menengai Cream Homeboyz.
