Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly called James Rodriguez in a bid to convince him to join Juventus at the end of the season.

According to Marca , Ronaldo is attempting to convince the Colombian international to move to Turin and has reached out himself to speak to his former team-mate.

Rodriguez is in the second season of a loan spell at Bayern Munich from Real Madrid and has struggled to make an impact.

He looks likely to depart the Bernabeu permanently in the summer, with Arsenal and Tottenham linked with a move for the attacker.

But it appears Ronaldo could use his influential to try and arrange a reunion with the 27-year-old to add a further weapon to Juventus' armoury.

Ronaldo has previously stated in the press that Juventus "does not need any player" when asked about links to former Real Madrid team-mates.

But Marca believe he is privately thinking differently and believes Rodriguez could be a shrewd addition for Massimiliano Allegri.

Rodriguez himself has reportedly decided he does not want to return to Bayern Munich, although they have an option to buy him at the end of his loan.
