A win for Charles Cardovillis charges will see them set a date with defending champions Homeboyz in the second round.

Kenya Harlequin will be out to advance to the second round of the Enterprise Cup when they host KRU Championship side Ngong Warriors in a round one tie at the RFUEA grounds today.

Quins head to the match buoyed by last weekend’s Kenya Cup win against Impala with assistant coach Benjamin Ayimba hinting at resting their key players for today’s match.

“You are bound to see a lot of changes since most of the boys need some rest having played all season,” Ayimba said.

The winner between Quins and Ngong will clash with defending champions Homeboyz in the second round.

In Western region, Western Bulls welcome Egerton Wasps and just like Ayimba, Bulls coach Bram Shikanda is also  keen on squad rotation.

“Rotation is positive as it will expose the other players by giving them the deserved playing time,” Shikanda said.

Struggling Kisumu RFC will be seeking to end their losing streak when they host South Coast Pirates.

Kisumu has not won any of their 2019 championship matches and head coach Howard Okwemba said they will use this game to rebuild and start afresh.

“We started the year poorly registering losses home and way. The morale has been a little bit down but the boys are pulling through and are prepared to start afresh with a win against Pirates today,” Okwemba said.

“We are preparing very well for our debut in the Enterprise Cup and we will not take our opponents lightly. We have been working on our finishes and we will have to be very clinical against our opponents if we are to pull through,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kisii RFC and Mean Machine will miss the next round after University of Eldoret and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) pulled out of the tournament.
