Kenya’s Ruth Chepngetich has won the Dubai Marathon in a course record-breaking time of 2 hours, 17 minutes and seven seconds.
She is now the first Kenyan woman to win the Dubai Marathon since Delilah Asiago in 2006.
Chepngetich will walk away with an astonishing Sh10 million – the equivalent of 100,000 US dollars.

She is now the world’s third fastest woman in the category after shattering Roza Dereje’s record (2:19:17) set in 2018.
She beat Ethiopian duo Worknesh Debele and Worknesh Gurmesa who finished second and third respectively.
