Manchester United star labelled 'pathetic' for what he did during Manchester United's win at Bournemouth

Manchester United were made to work hard for their 2-1 victory at Bournemouth on Saturday.

After Callum Wilson had fired the Cherries in front early on at the Vitality Stadium, a below-par United were fortunate to go in level at the break thanks to an Anthony Martial goal.

They ultimately won it through substitute Marcus Rashford in stoppage time, but Jose Mourinho was unable to ignore his side's performance in the first 45 minutes.

"I said at half-time I was the luckiest manager in the Premier League, in a half when it should be like five or six to two,” Mourinho told BT Sport.

"We were defensively awful. As a team we didn't press or do any of the week we did in the week. People watching this game will not believe how hard we worked this week.

"The first half was a disaster.”

And there was one element of United's game that was labelled 'pathetic' but viewers when they saw it on television.

Midfielder Fred has been criticised for his poor displays in a United shirt since his summer move from Shakhtar Donetsk, and he only lasted 56 minutes of this game before he was replaced by Ander Herrera.

The Brazilian didn't make much of an impact on the game, and in fact the most noteworthy thing he did came when he fell to the floor in apparent agony after the slightest of shoves from Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook.

The footage looked even worse when BT Sport slowed it down, and on Twitter fans were quick to slam the £52m summer arrival for his actions.

The incident wasn't spotted by referee Paul Tierney, so should the FA look at it and ban the midfielder retrospectively?
