Paul Pogba transfer: Why Barcelona are unlikely to make a move for Manchester United star

Paul Pogba's future at Manchester United appears bleak after his latest clash with Jose Mourinho.

The pair were involved in a frosty incident on the training ground on Wednesday in the wake of United's Carabao Cup exit.

It came after Pogba was stripped of the vice-captaincy after publicly criticising United's approach to the recent draw with Wolves.

It now seems inevitable that he will leave this summer with the likes of Juventus, PSG and Barcelona all believed to be interested.

But reports in Spain suggest a stunning move to the Nou Camp would be unlikely for the World Cup winner.

Mundo Deportivo reports Barca are unlikely to go anywhere near United's price tag, which has been set at around £200m.

It is also reported they would not be willing to pay the huge commission to Pogba's agent Mino Raiola - or the midifelder's staggering £10.7m-a-year wage demands - worth around £205,000-a-week.

PSG meanwhile would likely have to cash in on one of their prized assets to sign Pogba, due to FFP guidelines.

Meanwhile, Jamie Carragher has admitted he doesn't see where Pogba would fit in at the Nou Camp.

"I can't think of a more ill-fitting player for Barcelona. Barcelona are all about discipline, staying in position, playing for the team," he said on Sky Sports.

"That is totally against everything Pogba plays for. Pogba plays for himself, does his own thing.

"People are saying Mourinho is causing problems, taking the captaincy off him, but he's not really a captain, is he, in terms of how he plays?"
