Liverpool manager Klopp provides Firmino's injury update after horror collision

Firmino was forced off with an eye injury

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has provided an update on Roberto Firmino’s eye injury during Liverpool's 2-1 victory at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Firmino was forced off with 15 minutes to play after he clashed with Jan Vertonghen at Wembley - with the Belgian defender accidentally gauging the front man.

However, he did not appear to be bleeding and was spotted walking off the pitch holding a piece of bandage to his eye.

Following the incident, Klopp confirmed that the star is being assessed in that area and he is 'not okay at the moment'

“I’m not sure, but there may be an injury with Roberto, we don’t know exactly in the moment,” said Jürgen Klopp.

“It’s something with his eye, we will see.

“I didn’t see it back. I only saw the situation from around 60 yards. I have no clue what exactly happened.

“But it’s something with the eye and for sure in the moment it’s not comfortable for him. We will see.”

Firmino doubled Liverpool's lead in the second-half after Gini Wijnaldum had handed the Merseyside outfit a first half lead.
