West Ham have continued their £100million summer spree by signing Lucas Perez - and will swoop for ‘The Rock’ next.

Arsenal striker Perez, 29, arrives as Manuel Pellegrini’s ninth summer signing.

At a cut-down £4m, Perez will move across to east London to provide competition for Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez.

And new boss Pellegrini is looking to make former Aston Villa midfielder Carlos Sanchez his 10th - and final - capture of the window.

Nicknamed ‘The Rock’, the 6ft Colombia international will provide the Hammers a solution to their defensive midfielder needs.

The 32-year-old is in talks to join from Fiorentina.

Sanchez, who has over 80 caps for his country, spent last year on loan at Espanyol.

He has Premier League experience having spent a two-year spell at Aston Villa, leaving in 2016.

Pellegrini has overhauled West Ham’s squad this summer breaking the club’s transfer record to sign Felipe Anderson from Lazio while signing Jack Wilshere, Fabian Balbuena, Andriy Yarmolenko, Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks, Issa Diop and youngster Xande Silva.
