Arsenal fresh injury concerns ahead of the second leg of their Europa League semi-final against Atletico Madrid on Thursday.

The Gunners headed to Spain with the tie finely poised at 1-1 but have the boost of a fit Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who returned from a knee injury at the weekend having sat out the first leg.

Alex Iwobi has travelled despite suffering a slight hamstring injury in the weekend defeat at Manchester United but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is cup-tied and Mohamed Elneny (ankle) and Santi Cazorla (Achilles) are also out.

Diego Costa will be back from injury, intent on stalking the desperate Gunners in a bid to wreck a potential fairytale end to the season.

“In history, he has shown he can make differences,” said the Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger. “He was very successful in England. Our job is to keep him quiet and the way to do that is to play more in their half.

“My target is to get to 251 games [by reaching the final]. I believe we come to a place with a good history in Europe but we know exactly what we need to do. Our way to behave is clear and that is an advantage.”

Arsenal: Ospina, Koscielny, Mustafi, Bellerin, Monreal, Wilshere, Xhaka, Ozil, Ramsey, Mkhitaryan, Lacazette.

Atletico Madrid: Oblak, Partey, Gimenez, Hernandez, Godin, Koke, Niguez, Correa, Gabi, Griezmann, Costa.
