Former Gor Mahia skipper left club-less after terminating contract with European team

Former Gor Mahia defender and skipper Musa Mohammed has abruptly terminated his contract with the Albanian second tier club FK Tirana, barely two months after signing with them.

Media reports reveal that the defender has failed to adapt to the life at the European club leaving with the only option of quitting the club.

FK Tirana coach Ze Maria who also coached Gor Mahia has reportedly issued a statement on the defender, arguing that he failed to adapt to the life in the club. The Brazilian however lauded his former player for his talent and good work ethic.

In a statement from the from the club’s website, the FK Tirana coach explains that the player failed to adjust to off-field factors in the country.

He said: "However things have not gone according to plan, he has failed to adapt to life in this place, making him uncomfortable.

"He did not like the food here, and money was also an issue that was not sorted, I think he was homesick and we had no option but allow him to leave."
