Victor Moses starred in Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Burnley away as the Nigerian forced the opponents to tap in an own goal before cancelling Burnley’s strike in the second half.

Chelsea's defence of their Premier League title is over after a disappointing campaign which has left Antonio Conte's men in fifth position with just five matches remaining.

But the Blues' slender Champions League hopes were boosted by Tottenham's failure to beat Brighton on Tuesday night.

Now Conte's side are eight points off the top four with five games remaining, meaning victory at Turf Moor tonight is imperative.

But Burnley have enjoyed an outstanding season of their own, and the Clarets are currently on a five-match winning run, as they eye a European adventure of their own next term.

Chelsea are playing Southampton in the semifinal of the FA Cup on Sundya, and were in need of a morale-boosting performance.

Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso will be sidelined for the game after getting banned for three games by the FA, for a challenge against Shane Long in Southampton clash.
