Barcelona’s talisman Lionel Messi is of course one of the greatest goal scorer in the history of football with an incredible 618 goals in 752 appearances for club and country.

Messi, just as his La Liga rival Cristiano Ronaldo, is known for breaking records in his football career, including Barcelona and La Liga’s all-time top scorer.

However, there is one record that Messi has never broken and is unlikely to own. Becoming football’s all-time top goal scorer from free kicks.

The Argentine has been a master in this area over the past few seasons and has become dangerous with set-pieces outside the box.

He has scored a career total of 40 free-kicks, 34 for Barcelona and 6 for Argentina. He still needs 19 goals to break into the game’s top ten.
