Former Tusker midfielder Humphrey Mieno has signed for Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia.

Mieno signed a three-year deal with Gor Mahia on Friday just days after Tusker failed to renew his contract.

He was among  key players the Brewers failed to renew their contracts. Others include James Situma and Allan Wanga.

Mieno becomes the first big signing for Gor Mahia and his move comes two years after he failed to join the KPL champions.

In 2015, Gor Mahia had made a bid for the midfielder, but could not buy off his contract at Tusker.

Mieno’s arrival is expected to cover for the departure of  Keneth Muguna who is angling for a move to FK Tirana in Albania.

Before turning out for Tusker, Mieno played for Sofapaka and AFC Leopards.  He also played for Azam in Tanzania.

Gor Mahia who will represent the country in next year’s CAF Champions League have also signed Wesley Onguso from Sofapaka.

At the same time, Gor Mahia defender Godfrey Walusimbi has extended his contract by two years.

The club is also negotiating with midfielder George Odhiambo to extend his stay at the club.
