Chelsea to launch January bid for Manchester United defender Luke Shaw

Chelsea could offer Luke Shaw an escape route from Manchester United by making a shock January bid for his services.

That is according to the Sunday Express, who say the England left-back has emerged as a surprise target for the Blues.

Shaw is under contract until 2019 but has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford since his £30million switch from Southampton.

He has made just two appearances for United so far this term, both as a substitute in the Carabao Cup against Burton and Swansea.
