Salford City goalkeeper Max Crocombe sent off for urinating on the pitch

Salford City’s goalkeeper was sent off in the 87th minute of their game against Bradford Park Avenue - for relieving himself during the game.

Max Crocombe, 24, was given a red card during Salford's won 2-1 win at the Yorkshire club, reports the Manchester Evening News

Bradford Park Avenue’s official account tweeted Crocombe, from New Zealand, had been dismissed in the 86th minute but ‘no one knows why’.

The account followed up with: “87’ - We can confirm that Crocombe has been sent off for urinating during the game. We are not joking.”

The tweet quickly racked up thousands of likes and retweets and the incident at the National League North game was mentioned on Sky Sports.

Salford managed to win the game, putting midfielder Richie Allen in goal for the final few minutes.

Salford City is partially owned by former Manchester United stars Gary and Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Ryan Giggs.

A supporter made a complaint and the incident was reported to the police.

Kiwi Crocombe previously played for Oxford and Carlisle and represented his country at under-20 and under-23 level.
