Phil Neville has put his hat in the ring for the Everton job - as the club confirmed David Unsworth is in temporary charge, according to the Sun
Neville, 40, has previously worked as an assistant manager at Valencia and worked under David Moyes and Ryan Giggs at Manchester United.
The younger brother of former England defender Gary, Neville made 250 appearances for the Toffees over eight seasons after leaving Manchester United.
Everton were walloped 5-2 by Arsenal over the weekend, in the latest in a string of disappointing defeats, including a Europa League loss to Lyon after going down 1-0 to Burnley in the Premier League.
According to reports, former Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs is also interested in both the vacant managerial roles at Goodison Park and Leicester.
