Ronald Koeman has been fired as Everton boss after horrible start of the season

Everton has parted ways with Ronald Koeman after 16 months.

On Sunday, Everton suffered a humiliating 5-2 defeat against Arsenal and slip into the relegation zone despite their extreme summer spending.

Everton said in a statement: "Everton Football Club can confirm that Ronald Koeman has left the Club.

Chairman Bill Kenwright, the Board of Directors and Major Shareholder Farhad Moshiri would all like to express their gratitude to Ronald for the service he has given to the Club over the past 16 months and for guiding the Club to seventh place in last season’s Premier League campaign.”

 

Summer signings by the Dutch including Wayne Rooney, Jordan Pickford and Gylfi Sigurdsson, would only manage just two wins and five losses from their opening nine games, leaving the Toffees 18^th on the log.

However the former Saints manager guided Everton outfit to seventh in the table, with 17 wins and ten draws from their 28 outings.

According to reports, David Unsworth is expected to take temporary charge until new manager takes over.
