Tottenham are closing in on a £22m deal for PSG full back Serge Aurier.
The deal was agreed last week but has been held up while Aurier tries to get a work permit.
The Ivory Coast international was given a two-month "convertible" prison sentence, which his lawyers have argued he will never have to serve, a €600 fine and a €1,500 damages bill.
Aurier maintains his innocence but was blocked from playing against Arsenal at the Emirates last season when he refused entry to the country.
He has appealed, maintained his innocence and the French courts have now effectively given the deal the green light by downgrading the punishment to a fine.
Aurier is expected to sign a five year contract and become Tottenham’s first choice right back after Kyle Walker’s departure.
It is understood that there was interest from Manchester United and Chelsea but Aurier has chosen Tottenham and cited Mauricio Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy as major factors in his decision.
