Victor Wanyama sends peaceful and democratic election message to Kenyans

Hours before the August 8 election, Tottenham and Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama took to social media to wish all the Kenyans a peaceful and democratic election.

In a Twitter post, Wanyama told Kenyans: “To my fellow countrymen exercising your democratic right tomorrow,I want to wish you all the best and have a peaceful one #ElectionsKE2017."

Fans immediately commented on his adorable gesture, writing hilarious things like:

“Hapa form ni Cannan tu”

“Plz come home and vote baba.... Bt wewe already in canaan”

“Wewe piga mpira sisi tukuchagulie kiongozi”

However, some thanked him for his positive message.

Elections for the President, Governors, Senators, MPs, Women Representatives, County and Members of County Assemblies are expected to take place on Tuesday with voting starting at 6.00am.
