Athletics: Coast Championships is set

 

Taita Taveta athletes are in Mombasa to defend both men and women titles during the Coast region athletics championships set for today at Mbaraki Sports Club.

 Athletics Kenya Mombasa branch chairperson Anisa Abdalla said all the counties have confirmed participation. Stiff competition is expected between Taita Taveta and Kilifi counties.

However, Mombasa County will not have athletes in all the races and events. The Countydid not hold its field events due to lack of participants last week. Other counties expected are Lamu,

Tana River and Kwale. The winners will qualify for the national championships. [Ernest Ndunda]
