Manchester United could be ready to make a world record move for Neymar

Manchester United will reportedly meet Barcelona superstar Neymar's €200m (£173m) release clause in an audacious summer move.

The Brazil international would be offered wages of £415,000 per week after tax, claim Spanish publication Sport, to persuade the 25-year-old to swap the Camp Nou for Old Trafford.

The Blaugrana agreed to new terms with Neymar last year, stipulating a new €200m release clause that would rise with each year of his deal.

Next season that figure will jump to €222m, though the exact date when that change kicks in remains unclear.

The report details how the Red Devils have 'promised' Neymar they will move for him this summer and 'knock on the door of Barcelona' to meet his clause.

Such a deal may yet fail to materialise though with the former Santos starlet considering the La Liga champions to have a more stable sporting future in addition to his happiness with his current lifestyle.
