Team Kenya and Mumias Pro player Dismas Indiza has been working extra hard to regain his after a series of recent tournaments that has shaken his confidence ahead of the 49th edition of Barclays Kenya Open that tees off at par 71 Muthaiga Golf Club tomorrow.

Indiza says he feels he has not been in his element lately which saw him lose the Jamii Telkom PGK Masters in Sigona to Greg Snow of Muthaiga before posting poor results at the inaugural KCB Karen Masters at Karen Country Club on Sunday.

“Even though I struggled to finish second behind Snow in Sigona, the shock of my life came when I finished 30th overall in Karen. Something like this has never happened to me,”Indiza has admitted to FeverPitch.

Indiza spend most of his time yesterday at Muthaiga Golf Club perfecting on his shots and doing a lot of focus and soul searching ahead of Kenya Open.

“What worries me most are my putts.I have not been sharper of late and that is the cause of my problems on the pitch,” said Indiza.

Indiza will be among the local pros and amateurs who will be taking part in the second Barclays Pro-Am at Muthaiga this morning. The first Pro-Am which was held yesterday ended late with prize giving ceremony conducted at the club house at night.

He says he will use the today’s Pro-Am to gauge his skills and accuracy at the same time improve on his shots and putts before he embarks on the main action tomorrow.

“I also want to feel the pitch to see if the fairways are running long or not, I also want to device ways on how to overcome the barriers that will be on board in the main action,” Indiza said.

Kenya has entered 28 players including six amateurs in this year’s Kenya Open that has 156 entries with total prize money of Sh24.4 million of which Sh3.5 will go to the winner.

Meanwhile, The national team was yesterday boosted with Sh2million by Sport Kenya ahead of the main event.
