Kakamega High School recaptured their East Africa rugby 15s title with one match to spare having won four out of their five round robin duels. Determined to end a two-year trophy drought that saw them struggle to finish third in 2014 and fourth in 2015, the Kenyan students were in a class of their own.
Their first task was to avenge their defeat to national champions and arch-rivals Bungoma High, which they executed diligently and snatched their first victory 21-9. Next was Moi Sirgoi where they grabbed maximum points with a 10-9 win. There was no stopping Wiseman Aganya’s charges as they dismissed Namilyango of Uganda 15-9 and Makerere 19-3 to seize the trophy they last won in 2013.
