Standard launches free-to-download digital news application

The Standard Digital News Mobile app will provide easy access and improved user experience for consumers who interact with Standard Digital content.

KENYA: Standard Digital has once more scored a first in digital journalism by unveiling a newsreader application (app) dubbed Standard Digital News.

The app, which can be downloaded from Google Play Store for free, allows users to have the full digital experience through its user friendly interface.

With the new product, users can read the top news and entertainment pieces from their android devices with ease. 

The application also enables you to access news and photos as they are uploaded ensuring that you stay updated with the day’s biggest stories.

Speaking at the launch of the Standard Digital News Mobile app, Standard Group’s Director of Value and Innovation, Mr Francis Munywoki said the move was strategic and it would provide users with a richer digital experience.

“As we seek to capture further the online market and advance our lead in Digital Business we are proud to unveil this new Mobile App. The App will provide easy access and improved user experience for consumers who interact with our content through smart digital devices,” said Munywoki.

Once the application is installed, it automatically updates you on the top stories on the site. When stories are downloaded, they are stored on your device and you can continue to read them even when you are offline.

Another feature that users of Standard Digital News will enjoy is efficient data usage. This means that you don’t have to spend large sums of money to stay updated.

The Standard Group has been on the fore front of digital media in Kenya, and has been awarded by The Computer Society of Kenya for having the best media website in the country.
