Governor sends staff on 45-day leave amid anxiety of new appointments

In his speech after swearing, Sang in assured residents that appointments of county staff will be free and fair, and that he will make sure that all regions are well represented.

"We may have had issues in the first term but I promise all the areas will be fairly considered through a transparent process. My administration will ensure that we have competent and efficient persons to carry out the administrative functions," he stated.

Among the CECs yet to know their fate include Ruth Koech (Health and Sanitation), Dr Benard Kiplimo (Agriculture) and Alfred Lagat for Finance and Economic Planning.

Others are Lands CEC Philemon Bureti, Ali Kurgat for Sports and Youth affairs, and Jacob Tanui, who was serving as the CEC for Trade.
