KNH doctor forced into quarantine

A Kenyatta National Hospital Doctor has been forced to self-quarantine at his Bomet home.

The doctor was traced to his home at Kapsimotwa village in Sotik by health officials.

The doctor is said to have come in contact with the six-year-old boy who succumbed to Coronavirus this week.

According to health officials in Bomet the doctor had taken a one week break from work and decided to travel to his rural home.

He is said to have attended to the boy while he was at the hospital.

County Executive Committee member in charge of health Joseph Sitonik said the doctor and four family members are being monitored.

“They have been advised to self-quarantine for the next two weeks and are being closely monitored by health officials,” said Sitonik.

Officials are also tracing locals who may have interacted with the doctor at the village.

Meanwhile, two people who had been put under isolation at Longisa hospital turned negative for the virus.

The patients have been discharged.
