Bursary kitty to benefit 4,000 new students

Up to 10,000 students will benefit from the county's enhanced bursary kitty.

The fund has been increased from Sh80 million in the previous financial year to Sh150 million this year.

This means that 4,000 more students will receive bursaries this year.

In the last financial year, only 6,000 students got bursary funds.

Deputy Governor Martin Moshisho said the new bursary allocation was in response to increased number of students joining secondary schools and other learning institutions.

"We want to pump in more resources so that no needy student drops out of school," he said.
