NYANDARUA, KENYA: A love triangle turned tragic after a man was hacked to death after a quarrel in Kanyagia, Nyandarua North.

The alleged perpetrator has been admitted to hospital with deep cuts on his head.

The two were quarreling over a lady who they were both in love with when a fight ensued.

According to residents, the two were in the same house with the woman when the fight started.

Residents allege that the two were competing on who would be with the woman and it is then that they started fighting as she watched.

“The two were expressing interests with the woman and it was then that they started fighting. They had been quarreling for almost 30 minutes accusing the woman of cheating on both of them,” said Joe Nyaga.

He alleged that it was then that one of the men picked a panga and stabbed the other man before escaping.

He had also sustained serious wounds on his head as he had been hit with a rungu.

Nyaga said that residents found the deceased lying in a pool of blood while the other one was spotted in a nearby bush crying for help.

The woman had already escaped.

Nyandarua North OCPD Benjamin Onsongo who confirmed the incident said that police were pursuing the woman for further investigations.

“We are tracing her using her mobile phone and we will soon arrest her so that she can shed more light on the matter,” he said.
