It goes without saying that President Ruto has cultivated an appreciation for luxury fashion.

Just a day after Mining CS Hassan Joho made headlines in Sh116,000 sneakers, President William Ruto stepped out with a distinctive Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust watch during a church service in Marsabit.

In photographs shared by CS Kipchumba Murkomen, who welcomed him at the African Inland Church (AIC) Loglogo in the northeastern county, the Head of State was attired in his signature cream-colored Kaunda suit.

Ruto, who arrived for the 60th anniversary of the AIC church, complemented the ensemble with dark tan Oxford shoes, elevating the look with the prestigious timepiece.

According to Rolex, the Datejust has been in continuous production since the 1930s and has since remained a cornerstone of the Oyster Perpetual collection.

The watch boasts water resistance of up to 100 meters, as officially documented.

The timepiece features a champagne-colored, diamond-set dial and an Oyster bracelet.

It comes equipped with an Oysterclasp and the Easylink comfort extension link, a feature exclusive to the brand. This innovative system enables the wearer to extend the bracelet length by approximately 5mm, ensuring optimal comfort in any setting.

"Light is diffused consistently along each engraving, creating a characteristic, subtle glow that shifts with the position of the wrist. Once the sunray finish has been applied, the dial colour is added using Physical Vapour Deposition or electroplating. A light coat of varnish provides the dial with its final lustrous appearance," the manufacturer's website explains.

The particular model worn by Ruto features Yellow Rolesor-an elegant fusion of Oystersteel and yellow gold that epitomises sophistication.

It incorporates a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a Cyclops lens magnifying the date window.

While Rolex maintains discretion regarding official pricing, reputable watch retailer Prestige Time lists the timepiece at between Sh1.3m and Sh1.6m ($10,000 to $12,000)

Ruto's striking fashion statement followed closely on the heels of Mining CS Hassan Joho's appearance in Sh116,000 Dolce & Gabbana SuperKing sneakers at the ODM at 20 celebrations.

Beyond the speeches and festivities, Joho's distinctive footwear drew considerable attention, befitting a figure renowned for impeccable taste and an affinity for luxury.

The SuperKing sneakers, distinguished by their bold design and substantial silhouette, harmonised perfectly with his orange attire, echoing the party's signature colours.

The outfit further cemented Joho's standing as one of Kenya's most fashionable politicians, frequently seen adorned in premium pieces ranging from designer timepieces to exclusive streetwear.

Nevertheless, Ruto's penchant for luxury fashion is well-established.

Recently, the Head of State was photographed wearing Sh126,000 Ferragamo Gancini suede low-top sneakers while supporting Harambee Stars during their fixture against Zambia at Moi Sports Centre, Kasarani.
