A mass defection has rocked Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party led by former Governor Isaac Ruto in Bomet County. On Wednesday, more than 50 party officials decamped to United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

The officials led by CCM Bomet Central chair Kenneth Chepkwony said their move was informed by the need to unite behind William Ruto’s bid for Presidency in 2022.

“After a wide consultation among ourselves, we have decided to decamp to UDA,” said Chepkwony.
