Atwoli backs Khalwale’s ejection from Ford Kenya

Central Organisation of Trade Union Secretary General Francis Atwoli has backed calls for the ouster of Ford Kenya deputy party leader Dr Boni Khalwale, saying he is an impediment to Luhya unity.

Speaking at Maragoli Cultural Festival, Atwoli asked the party leader Moses Wetang’ula to take the bold action and expel his deputy not supporting the community's unity bid.

“We are trying to unite while one of our very own is hovering with the Deputy President which undermines our quest to unite. I call that because the Party Leader is here, dismiss him from your party and see if the Deputy President will penetrate this region,” said Mr Atwoli.

In a rejoinder, Mr Wetang’ula said he has already warned the former Kakamega Senator against deviating from the party’s decision.

“I have already told the bullfighter that the song he is dancing to is unknown to me. There is no moment we sat down and asked him to speak on behalf of the party since the Secretary General is Mr Eseli Simiyu,” said the Bungoma Senator.
